This political climate is so unpredictable and unstable at this time. It's actually very scary. My thoughts and gut feelings tell me to hold on tightly as a small business and be wise in spending your money. It's going to be a long time before banks or credit unions loan out money. And if they do, your credit has to be excellent, which is not the case in many situations. The banks still have their "tin can" asking for money. The political climate will not support the small businesses as quick as we all would like.
It's like using a paper cup to bail out a sinking ship. You can sink waiting for the government to assist small businesses.
However, a smart well planned business can still survive in 2009, but we all have to prepare ourselves to be strategic in our business decisions and get financially savvy. Because people still has to buy food, have a roof over their head and access to available cash in emergencies. I do not believe that people have 6 months of emergency funds in their bank accounts.Your business have to communicate that you have what people NEED not WANT.

We can feel good, but that don't run a successful business nor pave your path to wealth & success. We all have to utilize our networking abilities and resources locally & globally. Thank God for Black Business Space! We have to think creatively, also think "out of the box", weed through the B.S. and focus on specific goals you need to achieve. Celebrate your small successes. The Government will only bail out the big ships, for those of us who are the small ships, we just have to remember, "YES WE CAN." and plan to swim with the big ships & the sharks. And let's keep talking..Communicate & Network!!
